The Annual Oil and Gas Convention (OGC) is organized by Uganda Chamber of Mines and Petroleum (UCMP) in partnership with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development with support from the Petroleum Authority of Uganda, the oil and gas joint venture partners and other industry stakeholders.

The conference plays a critical role in creating opportunities for Uganda’s domestic and international interests since it brings together key policy and decision makers, business leaders, bankers, academia and investors from all over the world.

In its 9th year, the Annual Oil and gas Convention (OGC2024) will be held on 17th-18th April 2024 at the Kampala Serena Hotel from 9:00am – 5:00pm (East African Time) on both days.

The choice of the venue is motivated by the need for ample exhibition space for the National Suppliers Database registered entities.  Additionally, owing to the latest developments, the year is expected to attract the largest number of participants that have been preparing for the opportunities in the sector. It is interesting that the convention has over the years attracted hundreds of participants with the peak being 2021 where over 2000 participants registered to attend the virtual convention on zoom and YouTube. In line with the theme, engagements and discussions at the convention shall be focused on the on how the oil and gas activities could be carried out in the environmentally friendly way in order to retain value and the good eco-system from the development phase of the Albertine oil and gas projects and EACOP. These will be complimented by an expansive exhibition of goods and services available for the project.
